HX5 is currently seeking a Hybrid Cloud Architect to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for providing engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement
    development, and implementation to include designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that support mission
    system and multiple customers.
  • Design scalable, and secure, cloud solutions that align with DoD requirements
  • Ensure computing environments meeting existing security requirements
  • Work matrixed with developers, administrators, and network engineers to optimize workflows
  • Deploy and manage virtual networks, design and deploy computing environments to support modeling and simulation
    with hybrid storage solutions.
  • Implement automation and optimization tools in a multi-cloud environment utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with data solutions
  • Advise leadership and customers on cloud strategies, tools, and best practices
  • Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
  • Effectively display excellent, executive level, communication skills (written and verbal)

Salary Information: This position is expected to pay $130,000 - $170,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have 7 years of directly related experience in technical architecture and design in complex IT environments.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information
    Technology, or related STEM or engineering discipline required.
  • Must have knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration,
    scalability)
  • Must have knowledge of and experience in deploying capabilities to DoD Cloud Service Providers
  • Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current IAT Level II Certification (ie Security+)
  • Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related
    STEM or engineering discipline.
  • Have certifications in:
    • AWS Solutions Architect certification
    • Azure Solutions Architect Microsoft certification
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
    • CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) certification
  • Have experience with:
    • Secure Cloud Computing Architecture
    • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
    • Agile development and leadership with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence
    • one or more languages; Python, C/C++, Java, Javascript, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell
    • virtualization tools such as VMWare, OpenShift
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain the required level of clearance.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
