Description

    Verifying configuration management and tracks security update implementation to the systems using existing automated tools
  • Adhering to pre-defined configuration management and change management policies and procedures for authorizing software prior to its implementation on systems
  • Ensuring systems are operated, used, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with all applicable security policies and practices
  • Supporting virtual and physical workstation and server configurations
  • Supporting NIST 800-171 and DFARS 7012/7020 compliance with team members for infrastructure
    • Updating Documentation in support of the compliance
    • Conducting upgrades to OSes
    • Applying patches to OSes
    • Configuring new devices while adhering to existing security compliance standards
  • Working in a team environment to perform job functions
  • Participating in new GOTS and COTS software loads, tests software, maintains system health, patches various Operating Systems, and creates and edits documentation, such as Installation Guides (IGs), system administrator manuals (SAMs), maintenance manuals, and test procedures
  • Performing general IT requirements, installation, configuration, maintenance, and security in a classified or unclassified network environment
  • Supporting the virtualization of Windows systems (VMWare ESXi)
  • Providing ACAS/Nessus vulnerability and scanning support
  • Monitoring performance including monitoring disk space, utilization, capacity and availability
  • Creating and maintain user accounts, and install hardware/software
  • Performing system backup and recovery
  • Assisting Network configuration tasking to include:
    • Generating Network Diagrams
    • Configuring IP Interfaces
    • Discussing network requirements with stakeholders
    • Configuring VLANs
  • Administering network security measures
  • Performing System Hardening within the Windows Infrastructure in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Performing server/workstation installations and technology refreshes.
  • Installing and configure external workstation hardware
  • Installing and configure authorized software on workstations
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Performing system upgrades as required
  • Using package managers like YUM (Red Hat/CentOS), or DNF (Red Hat/CentOS) to install, update, and remove software packages

Requirements

  • Must possess basic understanding of networks, information technology principles, and operating systems
  • Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months of start date
  • Have developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely
  • Must be capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines
  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision
  • Be open to new and innovative ideas
  • Be a team player willing to interface with client(s) and relay information back to team


Desired Skills

  • Experience in a RHEL environment is preferred
  • Experience with managing multiple Oss preferred
  • Experience with eMASS, SSPs, POA&Ms, ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, SCC Tool, Benchmarks, and STIG Viewer
  • Experience in Supply Chain Software
  • Experience with Networking
  • Experience with Windows 2012/2016/2019 Microsoft Servers
  • Experience with VMware Administration
