Summary

As an Operations Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operations and execution of international freight forwarding services for our global clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced logistics professionals to ensure smooth coordination, shipment visibility, and timely communication. This is an entry-level role ideal for a motivated candidate with foundational knowledge of international logistics and a strong desire to learn and grow in account management.

You'll be trained on internal SOPs, freight systems, and key customer requirements, with the goal of advancing into a more autonomous client-facing role over time. This role requires high initiative and self-motivation whilst thriving on challenges."

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assist in coordinating transportation and logistics operations, including documentation, booking, and delivery.
  • Liaise with customers, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth movement of freight.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery of shipments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to shipments, customer information, and other operational data (SOPs/IOPs...)
  • Exposure to KPI reporting, sustainability metrics, and client SLA tracking.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns related to operations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.



Educational background / Work experience



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, logistics, or transportation preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in transportation and logistics operations or a related field.



Skills & Competencies



  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and reliable follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced settings and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with transportation management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and receptive to feedback.
  • Flexible to occasional overtime or extended availability as needed.
  • Performance will be measured by response time, accuracy, and team contribution.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.



Language skills



  • Fluent in English (oral and written)



Computer Literacy



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $20.75 - $27.75 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
