Fort Meade MD Pay From: $110,000 Per Year MUST Security Program Protection Specialist TS/SCI Preferred Certifications such as CISSP, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Protection Professional (CPP). 5 years of experience in security management, program protection, or related fields, particularly within government or defense sectors. developing, implementing, and maintaining security strategies, procedures, and standards to safeguard critical information and assets. In-depth knowledge of security regulations, policies, and protocols (e.g., NISPOM, ITAR, EAR). Strong Experience and risk assessment and mitigation skills. Experience with security audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), or other high-security programs. Bachelor's degree in security management, information security, or a related field. Relevant certifications DUTIES Security Program Protection Specialist is responsible for overseeing, managing, and ensuring the security of classified and sensitive information within an organization's programs. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining security strategies, procedures, and standards to safeguard critical information and assets. Program Security Management: Develop, implement, and monitor security strategies, policies, and procedures for program protection. Ensure compliance with security regulations, including but not limited to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), DoD Directive 5205.07 (Special Access Program Security Manual), and other federal security requirements. Oversee the safeguarding of classified information within programs, ensuring proper storage, handling, and dissemination of sensitive data. Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Perform risk assessments to identify potential threats to program security and recommend corrective actions. Develop mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and security gaps. Conduct security incident investigations and provide solutions to prevent recurrence. Security Clearance Management: Manage personnel security clearances, ensuring that all program personnel possess the appropriate level of access for their roles. Conduct briefings and debriefings for personnel with access to classified information. Security Audits & Inspections: Conduct internal security audits and participate in external inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare reports and documentation for audits and provide recommendations for improving security protocols. Security Awareness Training: o Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to educate employees on security policies, procedures, and practices.
