Vaco is hiring for a Project Control Accountant Location: Delray Beach, FL Compensation: $70,000-$80,000/annually Overview: Project Control Accountant is responsible for, project setup, progress reporting and progress validation, cost control analysis, forecasting, cost monitoring, change management, contingency management, and project closeout. We are looking for a fully proficient professional that can perform all typical controls job duties with little to no guidance, is able to perform some of the jobs most complex duties, able to assist in the development of other employees in the role with lesser experience, skills and abilities Primary Job Responsibilities: Complete understanding of project budget, schedule and key performance indicators Understanding of self-perform construction, construction processes, cost coding, progress measurement and overall project health monitoring. Lead establishing project phase codes and budgets in company accounting system Ensure project schedule aligns with project scope of work, execution plan/strategy and revenue goals. Monitor project performance against baseline plan Identify when project schedule and budget performance is trending negatively and provide project execution teams with support in performance recovery. Monitor project cash position and drive timely accounts receivables and accounts payable. Participate in project risk assessment and mitigation Facilitate monthly Work in Progress Reviews with Project Managers and company leaders. Review monthly project cost to complete forecasts and ensure forecast is aligned with project performance trends and accurately depicts project cost at completion. Monitor and audit project job cost and profitability status. Work in collaboration with Business Directors, and Operations teams to achieve common goals. Facilitate project closeout process and ensure subcontractor and vendor purchase order closeout. Manage and process all billing activities, including AIA billing and customer invoicing in accordance with contract terms. Oversee work-in-progress (WIP) tracking, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and project forecasting. Perform detailed job costing analysis, allocating labor, materials, and overhead to appropriate jobs. Maintain and apply cost codes and cost types, ensuring alignment with the general ledger (GL) for accurate financial reporting. Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across accounts and identify discrepancies. Handle invoice matching and payment applications to maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records. Manage accounts receivable, including customer follow-up and resolving outstanding balances. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Construction Management, Project Controls, Project Management. Project Controls 5 + plus years experience in Constructionrequiredand preference given for experience in Civil Construction. Proficient in Excel, MS Office, HCSS Heavy Bid, and/or MS Project, Viewpoint Vista, and Document Control programs. Effective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills. Understands job costing. Ability to understand prints and contract. Knows and understands the required federal and state codes. Self-disciplined, motivated, able to work with limited direct supervision, self-sufficient problem solver. Able to quickly adjust to changing priorities. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Dedication to continual process improvement. Able to perform duties in a fast-moving environment.
