Summary:

This individual will be an on-site learning business partner and instructional designer responsible for creating new digital training assets to meet the needs of our modern learners in manufacturing. They will report into our Lean Manufacturing team while being a member of the plant training team and will need to be comfortable operating in a matrixed environment. They will leverage change management and performance consulting skills as they refresh and modernize existing training content, streamline plant qualification processes, and find new efficiencies that improve the employee experience.

The learning business partner will work with both plant and corporate stakeholders to design, develop and implement learning programs following the TWI ("Training Within Industry") manufacturing training methodology. The role requires adherence to established learning standards, corporate visual standards, and will be required to produce learning objects and instructionally sound programs through various technology-based tools. Additionally, the instructional designer is responsible for adhering to the plant's employee handbook, and complying with regulatory requirements, company and plant policies, procedures, and rules in their area of responsibility.

Scope of Responsibility:



  • Influencing up, down, and across the plant and corporate organizations to achieve learning goals
  • Translate business needs into training solutions, articulating impact through data-based key metrics and KPIs
  • Create new training content by capturing video and photo images on the plant floor and converting standard processes into digital training documentation
  • Manage complex projects and multiple priorities against a deadline, escalating challenges and removing barriers to completion as needed
  • Work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to simplify complex content, removing unnecessary details and always asking, "what does the learner NEED to know?"
  • Work with vendors to vet viability of and implementation of external learning opportunities for plant employees
  • Coordinate production and translation of training materials and assist with associated deployment/rollout activities
  • Stay current with latest industry trends, tools, and best practices, bringing forth new ideas and challenging status quo



Minimum Qualifications:

Technical Skills:



  • Sound instructional design practices
  • Performance consulting
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, learning styles, and learning needs
  • Videography and photography, including production and editing
  • Experience with (some but not all of) the following content development tools- and a curiosity to learn as needed:

    • Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite


  • Strong proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Any experience implementing a connected worker platform in a manufacturing environment is a plus (not required)

Minimum Requirements and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related fields, or equivalent 3 - 5 years of work experience in related field.
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design/Technology or other Education related field preferred.
  • Manufacturing and/or CPG experience preferred.
