Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Repairs and maintains refrigeration units and mechanical equipment by performing the below duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observes and tests system operation using gauges and instruments.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical aspects of Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment, including evaporators, compressors, condensers, vessel packages or piping systems.

  • Ability to interpret piping and instrumentation diagram(s) to troubleshoot system issues.

  • Tests lines, components, connections for leaks, and proper refrigerant pump down if applicable.

  • Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.

  • Adjusts or replaces worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassembles repaired systems.

  • Ability to work in sub-freezing temperatures with breaks and proper PPE for up to 8 hours.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on Facilities equipment (i.e. boilers, air compressors, hydraulics, wastewater treatment, freezers).

  • Installs wiring to connect components to an electric power source.

  • Keeps record of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Develop and maintains a good working relationship with other team members, manager, and different department coworkers.

  • Ability to request and communicate to manager parts or tools needed to effectively complete task(s).

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

  1. Acquire knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

  1. Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of$29to$41.25.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Current R.E.T.A. or Refrigeration certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience using general refrigeration competencies including but not limited to ammonia systems repair.

  • Similar industry experience

  • CARO or CIRO (RETA) Certification

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

  • regularly up to 10 pounds

  • frequently up to 25 pounds

  • occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
