This position does not offer relocation assistance. #topemployer What You Will Do:In this role, you will perform tests, repairs and maintenance related to pipeline corrosion. Inspect and test facilities and equipment to identify existing and potential corrosion problems. Recommend course of action to eliminate or slow corrosion. Install and inspect cathodic protection facilities. Repair, replace and service corrosion equipment and tools. Identify currents that negatively affect company facilities and initiate corrective steps. Perform leak survey and cathodic protection tests. Monitor advancements related to corrosion technology, practices, techniques and regulations. Maintain interactive work relationship with Specialists and Engineers to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities. Direct and support contractors to complete evaluations and reports. Develop mitigation measures to effectively address deficiencies in the cathodic protection systems. Who You Are:Three years corrosion technician experience in related industry is required. The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following: Knowledge of corrosion control and electrical principles. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to corrosion, odorant, leak testing and record keeping. Ability to use and maintain corrosion testing and cathodic protection equipment. Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work independently. Ability to operate diagnostic testing equipment. Ability to interpret maps, plans and blueprints to locate pipeline facilities. Ability to communicate effectively, speak persuasively and develop rapport. Ability to operate personal computer and utilize software packages. Ability to work effectively in inclement weather conditions. Ability to walk 7-12 miles in mountainous terrain carrying up to 20 pounds of equipment Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications or StandardsAMPP (NACE) CP Tester (CP1) certification or higher is required Education Requirement:Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, or higher Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 20 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement. Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
