Overview
The Department of Buildings & General Services is seeking a Postal Specialist II to join the Postal Center team. This full-time position will be cross-trained in various responsibilities and rotate regularly among duties to support the efficient processing and delivery of mail and parcels for State government. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, customer interaction, and being part of a reliable and safety-focused team. As of July 14, 2025, the step 1 rate for pay grade 15 will be $18.01 per hour. Who May Apply
This position, Postal Specialist II (Job Requisition #52846), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Environmental Factors
Work involves carrying quantities of mail, which includes lifting and carrying heavy boxes, pushing loaded carts and postcons. Exposure to adverse weather conditions is present during pick-up and delivery. Manual dexterity is required in the operation of automated postage meters and sorting mail. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent AND one (1) years or more experience in postal operations in government or private industry. OR High school diploma or equivalent AND one (1) years or more experience as a delivery driver. OR Satisfactory completion of the BGS postal operations training program. Total Compensation
