Senior Product Manager - Quartz

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for overseeing anything involved with driving growth, productivity, sales, margin, on-time delivery, and earnings objectives of our quartz products. This role is the primary liaison between operations teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, and the sales organization in executing forecasting processes and resolution of service and quality excursions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short- to long-term forecasts for product line volumes and revenues and communicate expectations to leadership, commercial, and operations teams and track and react to product line success metrics on an ongoing basis.

  • Coordinate with supply chain on forecast details to support raw material and labor planning while meeting inventory objectives.

  • Lead ongoing analysis of market trends and competitors to maximize Momentive's position in the marketplace.

  • Support the commercial team in delivering incremental growth opportunities at targeted prospects and improve product mix through intelligent pricing, product expansion, and capacity utilization decisions.

  • Serve as interface and product expert with sales team; drive up-sell and new qualifications through in-depth analysis and presentation of Momentive capabilities, product advantages and value proposition.

  • Drive empowerment of inside and outside sales team through expanded development of pricing tools and templates, while retaining overall product management control of pricing and order policies to maximize pricing and overall margin potential in a competitive market.

  • Manage new product extensions and execution through SAP workflow tools, coordinating with operations and supply chain team to provide necessary material creation information.

  • Participate actively in Momentive service, quality, VCP, and Technology efforts related to the supported product lines.

  • Support commercial process improvement through helping to establish and enforce guidelines around order management, campaign planning, inventory optimization, and customer service.

  • Coordinate development of sales and marketing tools as needed to drive product line success, working with marketing communications as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with commercial process such as quoting, forecasting, order management, etc.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Ability to coordinate smoothly with multiple functional groups inside and outside the business

  • Strong financial acumen and communication and analytic ability

  • Comfort supporting a global sales and operations team, including occasional support during "off-hours"

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in management or engineering field.

  • Experience or background in engineering or prior technical roles.

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to the Director of Quartz Product Lines

  • Product management, external and inside sales, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, technology

Travel Requirements:

  • 10-20% including frequent support at Newark Quartz Plant (tubing product lines)

Working Conditions:

  • Office and manufacturing environment.

  • PPE - Steel Toe, Safety Glasses, Gloves (as needed)
