CNC Machine Setup Operator

As a CNC Setup Operator, you'll support the fabrication of locomotive and truck components by setting up and operating CNC and manual machines. You'll work closely with your team to improve manufacturing processes and foster a collaborative, productive work environment.

Shift Options:

• Monday - Thursday
• 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM
• Overtime as needed

Pay:

$24.50 - $27.00 per hour

Potential $2,000 sign-on bonus

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC/manual machines following process sheets and engineering drawings
• Select and install tools, offsets, and fixtures per specifications
• Use precision measuring tools to verify quality and perform first-piece approval
• Report equipment malfunctions and process deviations promptly
• Deburr parts and maintain accurate counts to meet production standards
• Monitor cycle times and maintain a clean, safe work area
• Load work programs, take offsets, find zero points, and perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• 5+ years machining experience or equivalent apprenticeship/workforce training preferred
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tool setup, and safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret engineering part drawings and use precision measuring equipment
• Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to noise, heat, humidity, dust, and occasional cold
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 20 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally, climb, bend, and reach
