Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Student Services Analyst Senior for the Admissions and Records (A & R) department. This position coordinates, administers and implements programs by providing operational planning, program management and evaluation, problem-resolution and technical assistance. This position performs advanced operational assignments related to Student Affairs, serves as a resource and liaison to staff and students, may serve on committees at the college and/or District level, and/or routinely leads and/or supervises other staff or teams on an ongoing basis.

Essential Functions

(30%)
  • Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of staff if serving as a lead worker; plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of staff if assigned supervision
  • Participates in hiring, discipline, and termination activities if assigned to supervision
  • Serves as a lead worker, assigning and monitoring the work of others, as assigned
  • Develops, analyzes, coordinates, and implements program functions and activities
  • Reviews program requirements criteria to evaluate and determine eligibility, and/or evaluates policy to determine and ensure program compliance
  • Researches program opportunities, industry standards, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and makes recommendations for implementation
  • Coordinates, implements, and evaluates processes and procedures; cross-collaboration with other student services and academic departments to assist in programming relevant to Admissions & Records
  • Designs, develops, maintains, and delivers program resource information, presentations, reports, correspondence, and promotional material
  • Conducts surveys and/or analyzes and maintains program data to gauge program effectiveness

  • Serves as a program and department liaison on more complex interpretation and explanation of programs, policies, and procedures. Analyzes current policies and procedures and applies them to daily operations
  • Monitors and coordinates the provision of information and technical assistance regarding applicable laws, policies, rules, and regulations
  • Monitors funding opportunities and administration, program expenditures, and program regulations
  • Monitors and adjusts department processes to meet partnership expectations, within compliance guidelines. (i.e. Under 18 Admissions / Registration, AAEC registration, Dual Enrollment processing, etc.)
  • Trains and provides work direction and guidance to others as requested
  • Provides training on all aspects of A & R functions for the A & R department staff and other student affairs staff
  • Provides work direction and guidance to A & R staff

  • Performs program coordination and administration, including operational program review planning, annual budget reviews, program management and evaluation, problem resolution, and technical assistance
  • Performs Quality Assurance program management and auditing of areas which perform Admissions and Records functions
  • Develops and implements training modules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Prepares training presentations

(10%)
  • Interacts with other Colleges, College departments, and outside agencies and acts as a department liaison regarding assigned functions
  • Supports off-site location coverage, performs duties assigned to that location, and acts as the backup site manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration, or related field and four (4) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

OR

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration, or related field and six (6) years of full-time equivalent progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered .

Desired Qualifications

1. Two (2) years of experience working in an educational environment providing support services in higher education

2. Two (2) years of experience working with a multiple student population

3. Two (2) years of customer service experience with a high degree of public contact including in person, telephone, and e-mail

4. Two (2) years of experience working in student services I.e. advisement, counseling, admissions, procedures including online Student Information System (e.g., PeopleSoft) and working with federal and state requirements (e.g., lawful presence/residency determination)

5. Two (2) years of experience leading teams with demonstrated successes

6. Two (2) years of experience working in a team environment

May be required to view a computer monitor for a prolonged period of time.
