As a Reliability Engineer I for Milwaukee Tool, you will be located at our Corporate & Global Design Headquarter in Brookfield, WI reporting to the Manager of Reliability / Quality Engineering. The Reliability Engineer I is a critical member of the New Product Development Team contributing entry level to intermediate engineering skills. Throughout a product's development cycle, this position requires strong cross-functional communication skills and analytical expertise to help launch new and exciting solutions that meet user needs. You will work in a fast-paced environment to innovate new products as a member of a cross-functional team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Product Development:

  • Lead teams for new product designs and engineering changes with respect to product reliability, user requirements and warranty information
  • Isolate and identify "critical to quality" (CtQ) user need requirements on mechanical and electrical design features; and all product component interactions
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.
  • Participate and collaborate on project teams involving Marketing and Engineering leading in all aspects of reliability and testing

Testing / Analysis:

  • Develop test plans and procedures based on new or established products, to ensure product meets customer requirements
  • Collaborate with test laboratories to implement test plans/procedures ensuring full test completion and best practices are utilized
  • Analyze, draw conclusions, report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, reliability distributions and matrices
  • Draw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments based on data analysis
  • Ensure timely failure reporting root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of ScienceDegree in Engineering or educational equivalent field
  • Entry level to 2 years of experience in related reliability and quality field and/or statistical engineering
  • Experience with or knowledge of new product development processes emphasizing testing design, manufacturing audits, quality assurance, test engineering or reliability and warranty prediction capabilities
  • Experience including test development and specification creation, quality engineering fundamentals and proven experience leading a primary function within a project team
  • Relevant experience with Design of Experiments (Six Sigma, preferred), life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft is a plus)
  • Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time is required (travel includes Domestic and International)
  • Preferred: ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE) or the ability and desire to achieve certification
  • Preferred: Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma experience, Python experience
