The Salvation Army Midland Division Midtown Treatment Center located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Maintenance Driver. This position is expected to perform all functions of a maintenance worker which includes but is not limited to: Ensure that building, grounds, vehicles, and equipment receive proper maintenance and are cleaned in a timely fashion. The majority of the work done in the position will be of the physical labor type. Responsibilities include being pro-active in finding building issues and providing support to maintain the overall appearance and operation of the facility under minimal supervision.

This is a full-time position 40 hours per week with starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

  1. Inspect facilities/grounds regularly and take appropriate action.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, appliances, furniture, and facilities.
  3. Perform and assist with maintenance as assigned
  4. Ensure all program vehicles are maintained and kept clean.
  5. Perform janitorial cleaning duties as assigned.
  6. Assist with maintenance of parking lot.
  7. Move/pickup furniture, equipment, tools and supplies to include setting up meeting rooms.
  8. Make regular pickups and deliveries for HLC Center. Acquire receipts for all pickups and submit according to procedural guidelines. Assist with loading, unloading and organization of supplies.
  9. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with co-workers, supervisor(s), and Corps visitors. This would include but not be limited to such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment to others; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, supervisors, and Corps visitors.
  10. Assist in transporting residents for Doctors' appointments and any other scheduled appointments approved by their Counselors and when the Front Desk staff is not available.
  11. Meet regularly with supervisor to discuss maintenance issues and proposal improvements in the way tasks are accomplished
  12. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Salvation Army Safe from Harm guidelines.



Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma/equivalent and two years related experience with some supervisory experience.

Physical and Working Conditions

Capable of frequently lifting 30 pounds, occasionally lifting to 100 pounds and frequently moves 100 pounds or more using dolly/cart/truck. Occasionally climb a ladder to work (replace light bulbs, etc.). Some of this work will be outdoors and will be cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

Employee Status

FULL-TIME: 40 hours per week. Normal work hours will be determined by supervisor.
