What success looks like in this role:

*Oversees legal counsel provision across significant business units or the corporation globally.
*Provides expert and strategic advice to management on a range of legal matters.
*Represents Unisys in material dealings with third parties, including outside counsel.
*Oversees legal workforce and staffing plans across the organization.
*Identifies, addresses and ensures resolution of talent gaps for current and anticipated requirements.
*Plays a key role in succession and replacement planning organization wide.
*Establishes and provides oversight and guidance to department leaders in developing and managing budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.
May provide legal advice and/or direction within any or all of the following areas.
*Facilitates development, implementation and ongoing management of company policies, ensuring appropriate focus on operational, managerial, financial and other strategic goals.
*Provides reactive and proactive address of corporate legal matters:
oReactively analyzing material business issues and providing appropriate legal perspective,
oProactively identing potential business-related risk and recommending mitigation strategies.
*Participates in senior management policy deliberations, providing expert legal and associated strategic advice and counsel.
*Works with and advises executive leadership on privacy and related matters.
*Ensures corporate policies and practices adapt to and uphold privacy regulations both globally and within various operating areas, regions and countries.
*Collaborates with legal, information / cyber security, commercial and other relevant colleagues to ensure appropriate privacy integration into data management, protection, incident management and related matters.
*Oversees development of privacy awareness and related training across the organization.
*Oversees and contributes to development of IP enforcement and defensive / related strategies.
*Ensures processes are in place to monitor internal research and development, product development and other technical advances, with an eye toward patent, IP and related protection and monetization.
*Oversees enforcement of the company's IP rights, including pursuing cease and desist actions, oppositions, cancellations and similar activities.
*Advises executive leadership on an array of legal and associated employment law considerations, risks and implications.
*Leads development and implementation of strategies related to employment and labor law / situations with broad organizational impact.
*Consults with business leaders / executives on a range of significant employment issues, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and company culture and objectives.
*Helps define and implement the corporation's litigation governance structure, including:
oProvisions the strategy and course of litigation,
oProvisions managing internal resources and outside counsel,
oCost management,
oReporting.
*Works with all parties involved, internal and external, to ensure complete and accurate understanding of relevant strategies, business implications and priorities.
*Advises management on litigation strategy and execution.
*Performs all requires SOX and other regulatory compliance functions related to litigation.
*Ensures processes are in place to manage transaction / commercial processes from end-to-end.
*Works with sales, finance, tax, marketing, HR, operational managers and other stakeholders to ensure contract and process compliance with relevant laws, company policies and the organization's risk profile.
*Works with senior leadership to understand business strategies and objectives associated with significant transactions, including M&A, new business, market entry and strategic alliances; provides advice on legal, compliance and other matters.
*May serve as a key negotiator for strategic transactions.
*Oversees legal aspects of business integration.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 10-15 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Graduate degree preferred
6-8 years' leadership experience
