What you will do:

The Organizational Change Team, part of Global Human Resources, is searching for a Organizational Change Manager (OCM) to support critical projects throughout Johnson Controls (JCI). As the OCM, you will support the execution of organizational change strategy in support of initiatives across a portfolio of complex, high-impact, interconnected projects. This role is focused on supporting the building, refining, executing, and measuring of customized change plans and strategies through partnerships with sponsors, project leadership, people leaders, and cross-functional teams within JCI.

The OCM will work independently and with other change and project leaders to identify, manage, and mitigate risks to projects within their assigned portfolio. In addition, the OCM, in partnership with the change team, will provide hands-on support to the project team and change network members to ensure the successful planning, execution, and adoption of transformative projects, and assist with facilitation and development of organizational change capability and culture readiness more broadly within JCI.

As the OCM, you will partner with the OCM Lead and other OCMs to manage organizational change workstreams within your portfolio, assist with designing and leading the Change Strategy and Plan across all areas of focus, including communications; leadership and stakeholder engagement, action planning, and coaching; training and development; and organizational alignment. In addition, you will follow our JCI Change Methodology by supporting the project through our three phased process: Readiness, Adoption, and Sustainment. This will require your mastery of effectively and efficiently understanding of the project scope and change deliverables from beginning to end in order to achieve successful program go-live and adoption. Finally, you will demonstrate stewardship and provide support to project leadership in meeting project objectives and goals, as well as delivering project excellence by incorporating OCM best practices to meet and/or exceed customer needs.

This position is ideal for an experienced change management professional who has the proven ability and passion to work within complex change efforts and support a culture of continuous improvement across a complex organization. If you are a seasoned change management professional with a track record of successfully supporting people centered change through organizational transformations, this is your chance to make a significant impact at JCI.

What you will do:

  • Support execution of the Change Plan for a portfolio of interconnected multi-year projects.

  • Leverage existing organizational change tools and frameworks to develop, manage, and refine comprehensive change strategies and transition plans for complex, high-impact organizational initiatives.

  • Ensure all change and project plan aspects are integrated for seamless execution and address or escalate any issues or resistance that may arise to facilitate successful adoption in alignment with company objectives, technology requirements, talent capabilities and project timelines.

  • Develop and execute targeted stakeholder readiness, engagement and communications plans that implement the right tactics at the right time to support and enable employees to adopt desired changes at all levels of the organization, while also supporting broad, company-wide awareness and support for change efforts.

  • Partner with sponsors and leadership to build consensus around the need for change plan(s), to define change objectives of multiple project streams, and to ensure prioritization of key change activities and resources across the portfolio.

  • Lead engagement of change champion network(s) across the portfolio and partner with them to implement creative change management tactics where needed to address unique stakeholder needs that require communications, engagement, training and/or change adoption support.

  • Partner closely with technical and business SMEs and leaders to develop impactful stakeholder needs analysis and targeted communications, training, organizational design and effectiveness, and change measurement resources, tools and artefacts that can be used to measurably drive adoption by executive leaders, people leaders, and front-line employees.

  • Partner closely with other change management team members to develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure change management plan progress. Regularly report on change adoption metrics, and look for ways to continuously measure, evaluate and improve the change management process.

  • Play an active role in team meetings to facilitate knowledge sharing, discussion of current challenges and potential roadblocks, and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in change management, bringing innovative ideas and approaches to the organization.
