Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and/or education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.

Summary: Reviews and analyzes prepare RCE's or other memos (as required) with updated financial, industry information as needed on potential problem loans for possible resolution. This is to include rehabilitation as well as, prevent, non-accrual, charge-off and foreclosure when ever possible. Special Assets Portfolio Manager II works closely with, Legal, Appraisal, and Accounting Firms when necessary and with outside agents (e.g., property manager, etc.). Negotiates loan restructure to protect the Bank's principal and interest, while implementation of restructure and monitors ongoing loan performance and maximize recoveries while minimizing non-accruals and losses.

The Special Assets Portfolio Manager II is responsible for the collection and recovery, and management of past due and charged off commercial credits. The Special Assets Portfolio Manager II must ensure their portfolio management maximizes returns and collections, while at the same time helping certain customers to be restored to active and pass credit status through acceptable negotiation and collection activity. In addition, the colleague is to properly evaluating accrual and non-accrual issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  2. Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  1. Manages all forms of credit relationships from the less complex to the most complex credit relationships based on the mix of portfolio. This includes lease collections, mortgage portfolio, to the more complex problem commercial, commercial real estate and construction type loans.
  1. Evaluates and provides acceptably prepared written reports recommending strategies to rehabilitate or exit, where appropriate.
  2. Maximize recovery and reduce losses from portfolios and properly evaluating accrual and non-accrual issues.
  3. Prepares and reviews a variety of reports dealing with portfolio status, risk classification and proposed action plans, performance tracking, recommendations for charge-offs and other routine reports.
  4. Ensures the timely recognition and reporting of changes in loan quality and risk to minimize the Bank's exposure.
  5. Manages their workflow in a way that allows the team member to perform acceptable review of the various types of R.E, and other asset appraisals as needed.
  6. Consults with other departments and bank management to help resolve issues both within and outside of Special Assets Department.
  7. Lends support to other team members in the department when needed to help overall success.
  8. Interfaces with branches and loan departments to detect loan problems early and to help recommend corrective action when requested to do so.
  9. Uses acceptable discretion and refers to attorneys whenever special loan documents or confirmation of the Bank's legal position is required.
  10. Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or a minimum seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook Internet software; Excel, Moody's Financial Analysis System Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills to solve less complex as well as more difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Prior knowledge and/or experience with SBA a plus
  • Thorough working knowledge of analysis of corporate, small business, personal, financial statements and commercial/corporate structure is required.
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in all situations, including situations with both internal and external groups
  • Ability to work in a team environment and foster successful working relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate diplomacy and tact when managing conflict resolution.
  • Sound decision making skills based upon a mixture of both financial and economic analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, cash flow and personal tax loan analysis, loan structuring

Salary Range:$127,475.00 To $184,838.00 Annually
