Occupational Safety and Health Specialist - Public Trust (Tier 4)
Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, who will lead and support the development, implementation, and evaluation of safety and occupational health programs across U.S. Attorneys' offices nationwide. This role ensures compliance with federal regulations, promotes best practices, and contributes to a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel. Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety and health surveys and inspections of facilities to determine if the designated areas meet accepted standards for the safeguarding of life and health of employees.
- Draft results of surveys and inspections to include detailed evaluations and recommendations for review and revision in accordance with the component officer's comments.
- Assist in developing policy standards and addressing the safeguarding of life and health within the facilities.
- Present drafted documentation for comment and revised in accordance. Material developed must be in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Program standards as promulgated by the Department of Labor Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
- Participate in inquiries on job-related injuries or accidents or reports of unsafe working conditions and serve as the Office of Record Keeping for all work-related injuries and illness.
- Conduct briefings, training classes and presentations on Safety and Health. Coordinate periodic Occupational Safety and Health Conferences at training facilities.
- Take part in special projects and studies affecting the overall safety and health of personnel in and on the Department's facilities and property.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field plus four (4) years of experience or ten (10) years of experience developing and implementing safety and health programs for a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
- Expertise of OSHA and other United States Government safety regulations, analysis documentation, facility inspections, hazardous condition identification and proper corrective methods.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
- Experience developing and delivering training to a wide range of audiences.
