The Role

As a technology sales professional, on the Solutions Support Engineering team, you will assist companies capitalize on emerging applications and ignite business growth by connecting people, data and apps - quickly, securely and effortlessly.

This role is an entry level position, and will encompass working in partnership with our Sales Account Directors and Customer Success teams, working alongside a Technical Solutions team where you will learn and contribute to our customers' success. As a Solution Support Associate you will have the opportunity to develop your technical and sales skills while contributing to the growth of our enterprise customers as they embrace the Cloudification of Telcom with Lumen Digital. You will expand your understanding of Lumen systems, processes, and tools to grow into interacting with both customers and internal Lumen teams to ensure customer solution details and service attributes are appropriately and accurately documented to support customer success through their entire journey with Lumen.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Work within a collaborative team environment as part of our sales eco-system to develop and document customer requirements, solution designs, service configurations, and project scopes of work in support of the delivery of network and IT solutions to business customers.
  • Support and assist field Solutions Engineering teams to identify and develop additional revenue opportunities.
  • Provide general discovery, support, and education to customers and internal Lumen personnel on questions or issues arising from service.
  • Research, define, and document service change requests where needed in support of service modification.
  • Work with customer and company personnel to help identify and define technical. problems, determine and design the solution and assist customer in implementing the fix.
  • Uncover and define customer solution and business development strategies, including the recommendation and communication of technology roadmaps to business customers.
  • Present Lumen capabilities, solution concepts, and technology roadmaps to both internal and external audiences in both formal and informal business settings.
  • Participate in marketing and networking events and activities with customer technical and business contacts.
  • Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to Solutions Engineering leadership on where processes, services, tools, and capabilities can be improved or evolved to ensure ongoing improvement in efficiency and service innovation.

  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to build relationships over the phone. Must have a proactive communication style ensuring timely status of projects to account team and customer. Must be able to develop relationships and communicate with customer technical staff.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of information technology, communications, or security concepts and general knowledge of technical terminology or industry concepts. Must possess a willingness and appetite to learn new concepts and have the initiative to invest in ongoing professional development through self-study as you develop a working knowledge of Lumen service portfolio, processes, and systems
  • Problem Solving: Intermediate analytical skills. Must be able to work through complex issues with a methodical approach. May be expected to graphically depict Lumen services and customer solutions in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Skills: Personal accountability, professional appearance and demonstrated time management skills.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to reprioritize as needed or as directed to respond to changing business requirements. Must be detail oriented.
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of basic collaboration and office applications (Microsoft Office preferred). Must be willing and able to develop a working knowledge of internal company systems and applications.
  • Business Acumen: Must demonstrate a basic understanding of business, sales, or financial principals and be able to develop a familiarity with Lumen business goals and sales targets.
  • Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 10%).
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$46,800 - $62,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$49,219 - $65,625 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$51,563 - $68,750 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
