The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Serve as Director of Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention and full-time physical therapist with Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Assist with the supervision and coordination of the University s overall sports health program, including, but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes in consultation with allied healthcare professionals, Qualifications: Required: Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an institution that is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association s Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, Physical Therapy Licensure in the State of New Jersey, Current certification in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer through American Heart Association, Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, Experience managing multiple tasks while working proficiently under pressure, Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with efficiency and effectiveness, Commitment to maintain confidentiality and discretion in managing personal health information, Ability to communicate and work with management, physicians, and all members of the sports health delivery team, in addition to coaches, athletic administrators, and other various areas of athlete support, Ability to routinely lift equipment and supplies, up to 50 pounds, from ground and assist with ambulation of injured individuals, Preferred: Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist Dry Needle Therapy certification, Professional experience as physical therapist working with highly motivated individuals in collegiate or elite athletic settings, Blood Flow Restriction Certification via recognized education/training provider, Scheduling Requirements: Non-traditional working hours, holidays, evenings, and weekend required, Occasional travel may be required, Essential Functions: Utilize appropriate clinical practice to provide physical therapy services for the patient population consisting of Rutgers University athletes within the guidelines of the Physical Therapy Practice Act of the State of New Jersey, Assist in the development and maintenance of written policies, procedures, standards of care, and expectations for the Sports Health Department, Assist in planning for the immediate and long-term goals and development for comprehensive physical therapy services in the Rutgers Athletics Sports Health Department, Complete pre-participation movement assessments of prospective and/or new athletes, and recommend corrective exercise plans for patients based on findings, Educate patients, coaches, and staff on injury prevention strategies through a variety of mechanisms, Involve patients and coaches in the plan of care for each patient, Maintain individual patient records in compliance with Rutgers Sports Health, NJ Board of Consumer Affairs, and DOH requirements, Advise physician of patient status using regular, or as-needed, progress reports, Maintain relevant supply inventory within the sports health facility and address procurement needs per departmental procedures, Supervise the clinical education of students through partnerships with facilitating accredited colleges and universities in accordance with established procedures, Within the bounds of confidentiality and other related matters of propriety, make sure that relevant information is set forth and presented to coaches, health service providers, and patients in a clear, concise, and cogent format, Maintain the Athletic Performance Center physical therapy space and all associated equipment and supplies used to provide the above services, At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
