Responsibilities:

Assume active role in overall plant and facilities-related work.

Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.

Must be able to assist in all production activities associated with running machines: setup, operation, cleanup and recommending improvements to operations and meeting production goals.

Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, scoring, folding, print, proper location per the cad drawing dimensions, etc., and communicate quality related issues back to operator and helper(s).

Must have ability to feed machine to meet production rates.

Ability to cross train to promote from Helper to Assistant Operator.

Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor.

Must be able to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.

Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Regular attendance and timeliness are required.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED.

Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Must be willing to work any shift.

Highly motivated, dependable, and technically competent.

Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

Must be able to communicate, read and understand English.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry or manufacturing environment.

Prior machine operator experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.

Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.

Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
