HDR's Mobility and Operational Technology Services (MOTS) is seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager to join our growing technology team focused upon the areas of Tolling and Alternative Revenue, CAV and Smart Mobility, ITS, and Zero Emissions. The primary responsibilities are to lead technology projects such as systems assessments and roadside project delivery, and support transportation clients in technology implementation planning, procurement, development, design, operations, and change management. Responsibilities will also include advisory consulting services, advising and engaging clients, performing data analyses and documenting results, and making recommendations on alternatives related to operation and business management changes. In addition, the successful candidate will also assist in business development and growing HDR's technology business and be responsible for delivering tasks including the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets for technology related projects. The successful candidate will supervise and support the development and growth of mid-level and junior level staff. Primary Responsibilities In the role of Senior Technology Project Manager, we'll count on you to: Technical Delivery
- Provide oversight and/or manage technology planning projects Support design-build and other alternative procurement processes and/or general program management contracts for toll, mobility, and ITS related work elements including direct interaction with clients, and manage project meetings, design reviews, operations, project production and delivery.
- Develop and/or review system integration plans, testing procedures and commissioning documents for toll systems.
- Prepare and/or perform technical review of technology and asset management systems planning studies, engineering analyses, concepts of operations, and implementation plans;
- Design and development of tolling concepts and reports including requirement analysis, technology review and selection, toll equipment specifications, and back-office communications and operating systems.
- Develop work products such as technical documents or reports, PowerPoint presentations, Visio diagrams, and Excel models.
- Assist with the development of local HDR office transportation programs and serve as a technical expert nationally.
- Support the growth and development of other technology adjacent business areas within HDR such as Asset Management, Transit Planning, Rail Systems, and Management Consulting.
- Supervise mid-level and junior level staff and support their development and growth.
- Demonstrate nationally recognized expertise and thought leadership through industry engagements, publications, and other means.
Project Management
- Develop and manage scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, procurement documents, contract documents, and provide oversight of project tasks, deliverables, and sub-contracts.
- Lead projects and manage others in the delivery of tasks with a high level of quality.
- Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically involving multiple project staff.
- Leverage work-share opportunities and coordinate workload with HDR business class managers locally and nationally.
- Support field or client work with technical staff to collect site specific data as projects require.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and execute technical training for junior staff.
Business Development
- Assist with the development of practice areas related to technology deployment and asset management.
- Identify opportunities and develop relationships with clients to win work and earn revenue.
- Lead and champion pursuits to win contracts and tasks, including pre-positioning, gathering pursuit resources, writing and reviewing proposals, and development of pricing.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Electrical, Systems Engineering, Business, Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in the tolling, transit, and/or revenue collection industry.
- 10+ years of experience overall.
- Familiarity with toll collection technologies and equipment, electronic payment systems, video systems, toll infrastructure, traffic management, information and communication technologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary level information.
- Proven leadership, project management, business development, technical writing, communications, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously requiring different skill sets.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of our clients and work outside of one's comfort zone.
- Experience working with multiple state DOTs/ regions, transit agencies and Toll / Thruway / Turnpike Authorities.
- Involvement in professional organizations in the tolling and transportation technology field such as IBTTA or ITS America.

Required Qualifications
