Position Title:Manager Mobile Screening Programs Department:BHN-Mobile Job Description:

General Description:

Under limited supervision, responsible for the planning, direction, coordination and control of activities related to the Breast Imaging mobile department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans for, implements use of and evaluates services and equipment to meet the needs of the patient and to enhance the department's contribution to overall hospital outcomes.

  • Supports functions through scheduling and evaluation of staff as well as organizing clinical activities.

  • Manages Breast Health Network and Lung Cancer Screening Network staff.

  • Responsible for managing the budget for the department by effective analysis of operations, identification of cost reduction opportunities and evaluation of products and services.

  • Develops effective communication channels with mobile services clients.

  • Participates in the recruitment and retention of personnel in concert with the director.

  • Ensures that department meets all appropriate accreditation and professional standards.

  • Participates in continuing education and staff development as assigned.

  • Supports orientation efforts for staff.

  • Reviews employee performance to ensure compliance with applicable rules and effective management practices.

  • Participates in community activities to promote the mobile mammography program.

  • Provides support to director during new system implementation to include but not limited to, EHR, PACS, and disease specific reporting systems (eg: Lung-RADs, Breast Imaging-RADs).

  • Works in conjunction with others to develops an operational plan that establishes clearly defined performance standards, metrics and workflows to enhance the mobile program.

  • Performs service recoveries as needed to maintain high patient satisfaction scores.

  • Coordinates day to day activities of the statewide mobile mammography program which includes 24/7 "on call" duty and can require travel to rural locations.

  • Directs preparation of the monthly schedule for 2 mobile coaches, ten locations per week prepared in 6-month intervals.

  • Supports mobile team during repair, weather, professional and personal issues, assists in making tentative plans and suitable alternatives as necessary.

  • Works closely with mobile safety officer/driver to coordinate with mechanics and professional equipment repairman, arranges part ordering, repair schedules on all mechanical equipment for emergency and preventive repairs and maintenance concerning generators, coach engine, chassis operating systems, all mammography equipment, and all IT issues.

  • Directs preparation of the monthly schedule for 2 mobile mammography and 2 lung cancer screening coaches.

  • Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment with Director of Clinical Services.

  • Maintains relationships and data base of all mobile customers, and coach support teams.

  • Continually works towards building the mobile customer base.

  • Contact for administration of all government contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field or other related field required.

Experience: 4 or more years professional work experience, including at least 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of professional healthcare theory, practices and techniques concerning radiology.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices.

  • Knowledge of budget and personnel concepts, policies and procedures.

  • Skill in developing, planning and implementing effective care practices and managing a comprehensive hospital department.

  • Ability to coordinate activities with other departments.

  • Ability to plan and conduct in-service training programs.

  • Knowledge of effective team building and supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills.
