This Genetic Counselor will join a busy oncology genetic counseling practice at an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center working with two (2) Genetic Counselors and one (1) Genetic Counseling Assistant.
You will see patients for a variety of hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes, working with both cancer affected and unaffected populations. You will primarily see patients in clinic, with the capability to see some patients via telehealth. The genetic counseling team works closely with physicians and other healthcare providers participating in multi-disciplinary tumor boards, high risk sub-specialty clinics, and a larger group of Genetic Counselors within the UVA Health System. This position also partners with local graduate genetic counseling programs to supervise students on their cancer rotation. Please kindly submit a cover letter with your application. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), or their predecessor, the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG), accredited training program. Experience: None Licensure: Active Full or Temporary license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Board Certification or Active Candidate Status by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) is required for licensure in the State of Virginia.
