Job Description
  • Document GL configurations, chartfields, KK ledger, and subledger relationships. Documentation is expected to include flowcharts with bulleted step-by-step details.
  • Analyze year-end close processes and journal templates (Entry Events).
  • Document relationship between the main ledger and all sub ledger data, including the commitment control ledger, accounts payable, and asset management subledgers, and how various ledgers are updated for transactions posted by users or batch processes.
  • Document saved journal entry templates (approx 25) within the system, to include configurations and updates.
  • Document New chartfield creation configuration and new chartfield implementation.
  • Document System configuration of year end close and roll.
  • Document combination edit rules in place.
  • Document the backend flow of federal and donated transactions.
  • Document journal entries, examples include:
    • Vouchers (Federal Annual)
    • Vouchers (Federal Multi-Year)
    • Vouchers (Donated)
    • Payment Requests (Federal Annual)
    • Payment Requests (Federal Multi-Year)
    • Payment Requests (Donated)
    • Journal Entries
    • Reverse journal entries
    • Payroll Journal (Federal) - Pension, Benefits, PTO
    • Payroll Journal (Donated)
    • Creation, disposal, and depreciation of capital assets
  • Discover and document the detailed flow of federal and donated transactions. This includes an in-depth exploration of GL and KK transactions with a focus on the technical aspects, tracing the flow of data and actions throughout the system.
  • Conduct an analysis of the key pain points and document potential fixes for the current system to eliminate or mitigate these issues.
  • Develop potential options with the pros and cons of ideal future states and the potential roadmap.
Qualifications
  • Experience with PeopleSoft v9.2
  • Deep knowledge of PeopleSoft GL and KK
  • Federal and non-federal fund accounting expertise
  • Deep understanding of GL configurations, chartfields, commitment control (KK), and subledger integration.
  • Experience with year-end close, journal templates ("Entry Events"), and federal/donated fund accounting.
  • Knowledge of FASB and FASAB guidelines.
  • Knowledge of funding sources include Federal Funds (both annual and multi-year), Donated Funds (restricted and unrestricted.
  • Experience with financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP
  • Workdays: Monday-Friday
  • Must be a US Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Card
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and technical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years related experience.
  • Must be able to clear a federal background investigation - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
