Job DescriptionThe Director of Accelerated Training is responsible for the leadership, implementation, and profitability of accelerated workforce training programs in a defined region. Reporting to the Senior Director of Accelerated Training, this role ensures the delivery of innovative, high-quality training programs tailored to business and industry needs. The Director oversees regional operations, including staff management, budget accountability, business development, and the cultivation of key relationships with industry, government, and educational stakeholders. The Director supports statewide strategic objectives through local execution and performance optimization.

This is a Waco-based position with an anticipated minimum starting salary of $95,329.49. Salary will be determined commensurate upon background, experience and education. Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and members of the community.

  • Provide high-level leadership and full P&L responsibility for all regional accelerated training operations.

  • Oversee regional deployment of training programs, including supervision of instructional and administrative staff, ensuring alignment with performance metrics and quality standards.

  • Develop and manage the regional training budget, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial targets.

  • Build and maintain partnerships with local employers, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and workforce boards to identify training opportunities and workforce needs.

  • Drive regional growth through strategic client engagement, program innovation, and marketing collaboration.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional and external agency policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

  • Analyze performance data, prepare reports, and make data-driven decisions to improve training outcomes and efficiency.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational systems, curriculum alignment, and learner outcomes.

  • Collaborate across TSTC divisions to ensure coordinated and consistent service delivery.

  • Develop individual product goals for grant, cash training, and profitability while capitalizing on growth opportunities within the Texas State Technical College footprint.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university.

  • Four plus years of management experience in business or industry. Demonstrated successful ability in business, education, and/or training with knowledge of workforce development and instructional programs.

  • Experience with managing budgets, P&L responsibility, and project management, along with knowledge of evaluation methods.

  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in business development and consultative selling techniques.

  • Ability to work with federal and state government, education, business, and industry association people at all levels and with varied backgrounds and expertise.

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare meaningful reports.

  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

  • Skill in conducting needs analysis and working with business and industry to determine training needs.

Work Environment & Additional Information
  • This is a Flexible/Hybrid position that works from an off-campus location, but must be available for on-campus meetings and support as required by business needs.

  • This role may require occasional travel to different office locations and events

  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, lifting, or other job-specific movements as needed.

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed

  • This position is full time, requiring a standard 40-hour work week

  • This role is classified as salaried, exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

  • This position is not ORP eligible
