The Non-Invasive Cardiology Manager at the UC Davis Heart and Vascular Center, serves as a key member of an outstanding leadership team at one of the most comprehensive and advanced academic healthcare systems in the country. They will support and facilitate an inter-professional team and patient-centered approach to the delivery of care. This includes creating an environment in which collaboration is valued and excellence in clinical care, education, and research is promoted and achieved.
They will serve as the direct link between the executive leadership of UC Davis and the UC Davis Heart and Vascular Center and front-line patient caregivers. The incumbent functions under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Heart and Vascular Center and represents and supports the staff of the Echocardiography Lab and Electrocardiography Lab. The incumbent will also have a close working relationship to the identified Physician Leader(s) as identified by UCDH leadership. Incumbent manages, directs, oversees and coordinates Heart and Vascular Center department functions and activities; interprets policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate. Incumbent has 24-hour accountability for the unit. Incumbent gives broad guidance and direction and is expected to function with initiative and independent judgment. The incumbent participates in the activities of the department, manages personnel, oversees departmental activities, determines staffing patterns and directs hiring, termination, promotion, disciplinary action and personnel evaluation of staff. Incumbent directs the development, interpretation and application of departmental policies, budgets and long-range plans.
Incumbent performs administrative duties within the department and interdepartmentally. Incumbent is responsible for departmental quality assurance consistent with organizational policies and procedures. Incumbent promotes customer service and employee/customer satisfaction. Incumbent is expected to work collaboratively with executive leadership, other managers, and staff to provide efficient throughput and customer service.
The Manager will have accountability for enhancing a clinical practice environment, encouraging patient-centered, unsurpassed clinical quality and patient safety while also providing significant contributions to education and research. They will provide round-the-clock leadership and management in the areas of customer satisfaction, provision of safe and effective care, finance, human resources, communication, patient/staff advocacy, performance improvement and leadership and professional development. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or clinical degree and/or equivalent experience/training
- Master of Business or related Medical/Healthcare degree to be completed within 2 years
- Experience in management of non-invasive cardiology services.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience garnered through a minimum of 5 years of front-line clinical work as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Strong analytical skills to appropriately assess problems and needs and to present data in a concise, meaningful format.
- Ability to organize work effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to establish priorities and distribute effort appropriately among tasks, to meet deadlines and to maintain a high level of productivity.
- Skills in written and oral communications to express complex ideas and proposals clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge of performance improvement evaluation methods Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, database and internet applications.
- Clinical management skills necessary to coordinate and focus clinical staff towards the unified goal of maximizing safe and precise patient care.

- Current RCES/RCIS certification
