GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Manager, Associate Communications plays a substantial role in creating and implementing strong communication outputs across multiple channels. This role will work closely with multiple business partners to ensure communications are clear, timely and targeted to the correct audience.

This position will work in close partnership with the Vice President of Associate Communications to define and implement communications strategies and tactics to drive culture, awareness, and business literacy. This role will seek to blend the best of current strategies with an eye toward creatively enhancing our style, tone, and storytelling capabilities. The Manager, Associate Communications, will play an active role on project teams across business functions with a primary focus on Human Resources. This role will bring communications expertise, thought leadership, organization, and reporting. This role will also have some management oversight of digital tools including our global intranet, mobile apps, and email platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the communications lead for Human Resources and select project teams helping to develop and execute tactical communications outputs.
  • Understand the vision for associate communications and work to create communications plans and tactics to achieve said vision (utilize storytelling and clarity to drive culture, engagement, and strategic alignment).
  • Distill complex information into clear and consumable communications plans using multiple channels (intranet, email, presentations, video).
  • Help organize and produce materials to support corporate meetings (including scheduling, agenda creation, and pre/post meeting messaging).
  • Work closely with the Vice President, Associate Communications to develop strategies and content mapping for corporate meetings, special projects, and other business partners as needed - with a focus on Human Resources.
  • Lead and develop team members - creating goals, organizing work, and providing feedback conducive to growth and development.
  • Manage day-to-day communications in support of business needs. This may include creation of content and communications plans, gathering approvals, and distribution with close collaboration with other Communications team members around the business.
  • Use data and metrics to provide consul and ideas to improve overall communications.
  • Manage communications projects, including editorial calendars, to ensure optimal timing for messages.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Proven track record in the field of corporate or employee communications.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal client relationships in mid- to large-size organizations, preferably a public and/or global company or has worked in an agency with similar client profiles.
  • Experience managing a small team or leading project teams.
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated skills with digital platforms (Sharepoint, Intranets, email platforms, apps, etc.)
  • Experience in employee communications, culture and engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to convey
  • information and ideas through high-quality verbal and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Outstanding project management skills.
  • Previous experience in planning and managing internal events.
  • Strong judgment and interpersonal skills, including ability to build personal credibility and trust.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and be able to act quickly and confidently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
