Operations Technician II

Position Summary
The Operations Technician II, under direct supervision, supports the Operations Department with a variety of field duties relating to the installation, operation and maintenance of gas service lines / pipelines / gas regulator stations within the assigned geographic area.

Tasks and Responsibilities
* Coordinate the district leak/atmospheric surveys, miss dig, and/or collections duties.

* Inspects new and replacement service/ main installations.

* Represents the company at various pre-construction meetings.

*Perform daily field operational work whichincludes leak survey, locating, collections and meter reading.

* Handles customer and contractor inquiries. Maintains appropriate documentation and reports on findings and actions.

* Active participant in Damage Prevention and watch and protect. Coordinate third-party high-pressure crossings.

* Support supervisors with day-to-day operations. Trains and monitors the less experienced Operations Technicians.

* Adheres to company internal control procedures and financial processes.

* Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

* High School Diploma/GED or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required, supplemented with college courses or vocational training in drafting, surveying, electrical, circuits wiring or other related field. required

* 3+ Years electrical and/or gas distribution experience. required

* Knowledge of basic mechanical & electrical principles, preferred

* Good analytical and organizational skills.

* Good written and oral communication skills.

* Good customer service orientation.

* Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.

* Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.

* Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.

* Must adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws.
