Job Description

The Data Auditor is responsible for auditing clinical documentation case data in the Perioperative computer system. This position verifies and processes patient charges according to organizational timeline. This position answers phone calls and relays messages accordingly. This role is responsible for communicating with the clinical system administrator and/or assistant system administrator any issues or concerns regarding required documentation of clinical documentation data elements and patient charging processes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes medical records documentation post op for accuracy utilizing auditing guidelines.
  • Performs post case data entry.
  • Verifies patient charge entry for accuracy and entering miscellaneous charges by comparing medical record documentation with items charged.
  • Submits missed or inaccurate documentation and/or patient charge information to the responsible person(s) for completion or correction.
  • Posts procedures with patient data for add-on or emergent cases that were not posted at the time of procedure.
  • Post cases requiring Anesthesia Services to included but not limited to: OR, Surgicare, GE Lab, Labor and Delivery, Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology in the Special Charges Sites of the Ormis system.
  • Assists in preparation and maintains reports, studies, materials, records, etc.
  • Performs post case patient data entry.
  • Responsible for the reporting data from the system.
  • Performs required daily ORMIS Systems application tasks.
  • Ensure that all cancelled cases/procedures are cancelled in the ORMIS System.
  • Anticipates equipment and supply needs.
  • Contacts appropriate people for repair of equipment and machines.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical/surgical procedure terminology.
  • Knowledge of various business information system software programs - HIS, MS Word, Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with anticipatory skills.
  • Ability to read and understand the English Language.
  • Ability to multi-task with accuracy and follow through to completion.
  • Typing accuracy is a must.
