DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position serves as the Program Supervisor for the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program. Services are provided to adult consumers in such a manner as to encourage self-reliance and independence. The program provides psychiatric rehabilitation services to qualified individuals in their home, in the community, and in a facility-based program. In this position, you will:
- Provide direct management and oversight of the Psych Rehabilitation program and direct supervision of staff and services. Develop and implement Psychiatric Rehabilitation programming for the participants.
- Attend relevant trainings and works with state personnel to keep updated on best practices in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Provide direction to staff and participants in topics of recovery and rehabilitation. Work with the Co. Casework Manager 2 in the program planning and development for Psych. Rehab.
- Hire, train and evaluate staff to carry out program duties and responsibilities. Responsible for reviewing with each staff person all relevant performance standards in relation to the job tasks. Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance, discipline staff when needed by following Agency processes/policy. Evaluate and complete probationary and annual performance evaluations. Review performance standards and conduct progress reviews for staff. Review staff paperwork including monthly timesheets, expense reports, requests, etc. Complete timesheets, expense reports, work orders, and purchase request orders for Psych Rehab.
- Provide programmatic and case specific direction within the psych rehab principles and practices. Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations and resources.
- Incorporate the Psych Rehab principles in all program practices. Develop and maintain best practices for Psych Rehab record keeping.
- Develop and maintain program policies and procedures, program planning and service implementation.
- Supervise the provision of case management services provided to participants in the program.
- Monitor records, prepare reports and correspondence. Assure all required documentation and reports are completed.
- Work as a specialist for the Psych Rehab program to provide recovery-oriented services to individuals.
- Assist participants to develop, enhance, and retain skills in the areas of living, learning, working and socialization so that participants can live in an environment of choice and participate in the community.
- Engage participants in the day-to-day operation of the program to promote skill development. Assess and set goals with participants.
- Document positive outcome and submit progress reports as required.
- Serve as direct support for member activities. Provide transportation for members to attend program activities as needed. Help to arrange and coordinate transportation from other sources when available.
- Coordinate with universities and colleges in developing field placement and training programs for social work and psychology students doing placements in the community.
- Attend meetings, staffing, and trainings. Develop rapport and fosters positive working relationships with volunteers, home providers, family members, and other staff. Participate in presentations to community organizations.
- Serve as a member of the Mental Health Management Team. Perform other related duties as required.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. On occasion, management staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands or in the event of an emergency.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
