Primary Purpose:
Conducts highly complex, theoretical, and/or technical engineering studies and evaluations requiring innovative solutions for which precedents may not have been established, or which may have a significant impact on a major project or Company operations.

Plans and designs transmission systems with voltage levels typically above 34.5K. Focuses on transmission circuits.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Conducts highly complex, theoretical, and/or technical engineering studies and evaluations requiring innovative solutions for which precedents may not have been established, or which may have a significant impact on a major project or Company operations.
  • May serve as project leader on major technical development projects.
  • Develops engineering design criteria, plans, and procedures and assess the feasibility of related proposed engineering evaluation tests.
  • Provides expert review for PLS-CADD overhead line designs
  • Reviews and approves compliance related design documents, including application of general orders, codes, and standards
  • Initiates recommendations for improvements in materials, designs, plans, procedures, and operations.
  • May review and approve specific design documents and studies.
  • Provides leadership, technical advice, and guidance to lower level engineers.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments, research procedures, and technologies in respective engineering field.
  • Responsible for serving as the Company's technical expert in a specific engineering discipline.
  • Employees in this position are expected to provide innovative solutions to unique problems.
  • .Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Qualifications

Hybrid Schedule:



  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Professional Engineer (PE) certification in addition to five (5) years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years related experience.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the state of California.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advance engineering knowledge normally acquired through post-graduate courses leading to a master's degree
