Charge Nurse - Neuro Step Down

The Neuro Step Down Unit is hiring a nurse Charge (RN) to join their dedicated team of high-performing nurses that provide exceptional patient care within their 29-bed unit. This unit is highly specialized neurology Step-Down, dedicated to the special care required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery, or neurological injuries - to include psych patients. Joint Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down.

The Charge RN will, under the direction of the Nursing Director, work with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as a part of the management/leadership team to provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service area(s). May provide direct patient care

• Experience: Minimum One year of nursing experience required
  
  

• Education:
  *Minimum Associate Degree

  *Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred
  
  Education specialization:
  * Nursing

  Credentials:
  * Registered Nurse-NM

  *State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License Academic Preparation:

  BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.

*CDS Inpatient
*Progressive and Critical Care Units: ACLS
*Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS
*Pediatrics / PICU: PALS
*Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP
*Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; permanent charge requires ACLS in addition to others
*Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS
*Oncology Chemotherapy certification
