Westlake is offering an opportunity to apply your experience and skills as an HRBP in Aberdeen, MS. This role has responsibility for Human Resources functions at the Aberdeen and Prairie Mississippi sites. This position will be responsible for providing consultation, interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies for employees and managers on a day-to-day basis. Strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring that all management team members are trained on all aspects of Human Resources management/processes and that training needs are identified, and training needs implemented at the supported sites. The role will also supervise and process Payroll for the Aberdeen location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provides counseling, support and advice to management & employees in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues (progressive discipline, conflict resolution, investigations and terminations). Reviews related documentation, policies, and/or procedures and presents recommendations for action and resolution.
  • In conjunction with Site Manager, manage union relations at Aberdeen facility, including facilitating union/management meetings, managing the grievance process, and providing strategy and execution in labor negotiations.
  • Coaches and consults with local management in leveraging performance through people by directing the application and maintenance of the company's performance management system.
  • Drives candidate evaluation & selection; personally participates in candidate evaluation (as part of an interview team); works with Talent Management and Total Rewards COEs to formulate salary offers and ensure proper onboarding/orientation.
  • Manages HRIS for two locations. Trains administrative and management personnel as required. Also adheres to company Delegation of Authority and all policies and procedures.
  • Is a single point of contact for leaders to access services provided by other Human Resources functions, e.g., training, compensation, etc.; works with corporate Centers of Excellence (COE) to ensure effective, coordinated delivery of HR services.
  • Support organization change and continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure successful change management approaches through effective planning and analysis, communication of change initiatives, full and active leadership support and employee involvement.
  • Coordinates with Talent Management COE to ensure appropriate development and training for client groups.
  • Track and analyze plant HR metrics for client groups to determine root cause and develop and execute action plans to address problem areas.
  • Benchmark hourly wages in Mississippi, making recommendations for technician level annual wage adjustments.
  • Assure regulatory compliance and minimize legal exposure in all personnel related matters.
  • Special projects as required or assigned. Some support at other sites along with travel may be required for temporary timeframes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields is required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

*Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience and exposure to functional areas including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation administration, performance management, and training. *Labor Relations background is highly preferred. *Excellence in a client management model: mobilizing the best people and integrating the tools and processes required to meet the needs of the business *Business driven with strong financial acumen. *Outstanding communication and presentation skills *High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player *Ability to influence senior management, establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership *Knowledge of best practices, HR laws, policies and procedures
