Summary:

This position has a high degree of client interaction with minor clinical responsibilities. The clerk is responsible for client reception area, clerical tasks, data entry activities, benefits issuance changes as needed. Clinical tasks to include performance of height and weight measurements as well as finger-sticks to obtain lab values as necessary to provide WIC Program services to participants.

Responsibilities:


  • Prepares and Completes client record forms in preparation for program assessment and certification/recertification according to appropriate category (residency and income screen). Enters client data into DEHD computer, assigns appropriate food package/counseling codes as determined. Puts together charts in proper order. (E)
  • Obtains and records anthropometric values (height, weight, according to DSHS regulations) required for client certification. (E)
  • Performs and records results of quality control standardized test on the Hermocue machine at designated intervals, performs fingerstick. (E)
  • Instructs client on program benefits, clinic procedures, use of EBT cards. (E)
  • Files the EBT carbons appropriately. (E)
  • Provides program information and schedules appointments per telephone during clinic and completes reminder calls/missed appointments each month. (E)
  • Performs end of the month activities including running reports and completing checklists. Pulls terminated charts as needed monthly. (E)
  • Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department. (E)
  • Appropriately adapts assigned patient care assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age specific and other developmental needs of each patient served. (E)
  • Demonstrates adherence to the CORE values of Santa Rosa Health Care. (E)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. (M)

Requirements:

Education/Skills


  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.

Experience


  • A minimum of six (6) months front office and data entry experience required.
  • WIC experience, preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications


  • Valid Class A Driver's License.
  • Current automobile insurance.
