Overview

The LatAm Sovereign and Secured Financing team, a key component of our Global Emerging Markets group, is seeking a highly motivated and quantitative-oriented Vice President level Trader to contribute to our continued success. We are a market leader in structured lending among top international banks, focusing on financing transactions across Latin America. Our clients include central governments, government-owned companies, and financial institutions. We utilize a diverse range of risk distribution instruments, including credit insurance, financial guarantees, credit default swaps, and bonds, alongside derivatives such as interest rate and FX swaps.

What You'll Do

As a Vice President level Trader, you will play a vital role in supporting the trading team and contributing to the profitable growth of our business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Product Expertise: Developing a deep understanding of a broad range of financial products, including bonds, loans, interest rate and cross-currency swaps, and credit default swaps
  • Systems Proficiency: Gaining a thorough understanding of the bank's systems, including pricing libraries, trading platforms, and risk and settlement systems
  • Risk Management: Preparing and analyzing risk reports to ensure accurate monitoring of key risks within the trading books and executing appropriate hedges to maintain risk within acceptable levels
  • Funding Management: Assessing daily funding requirements across all books and currencies and executing appropriate funding trades
  • Pricing: Providing pricing for potential new deals, considering market conditions, capital calculations, and hedging costs, in collaboration with senior traders
  • Internal Approvals: Supporting internal approvals of new deals by working effectively with other teams and control functions

How You'll Lead

  • You will represent the Trading Desk on travel abroad to meet clients and help pitch structured deals
  • You will lead discussions with various control functions throughout the approval process of new transactions

Skills You'll Need

  • Proven experience in the financial industry preferably with close contact with a trading desk
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Economics or similar other field
  • Demonstrated experience working with numbers and performing quick arithmetic calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Prior coding experience would be a plus

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $187.5K to $307.5K. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
