The College of Engineering wishes to appoint a Survey and Instrumentation Professional to support funded research and implementation projects in resilient infrastructure, natural infrastructure, and nature-based solutions.

The position is a staff position and will be within the Engineering Services Team under the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems ( IRIS), at the College of Engineering's School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering ( ECAM). The successful candidate(s) will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists at the University of Georgia. Projects are highly specialized due to the incorporation of natural infrastructure systems and nature-based solutions.

This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of employment is contingent upon the continuation of funding.

Lead topographic survey efforts to support civil/environmental engineering design and research related to natural infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and infrastructure resilience in riverine, coastal, and urban settings, utilizing various surveying equipment and techniques.

Develop and implement field study plans utilizing a variety of environmental science-related data collection techniques, sensors and software to support research and engineering projects in riverine, coastal, and urban settings.

Process and analyze field data to support research and engineering design and implementation.

Conduct inventory, calibrate, and maintain field data collection instrumentation, QA/QC data sheets and field logs in support of environmental field data collection efforts.

Assist in the development of journal manuscripts, research reports, factsheets, and other written/video resources and materials.

Develop innovative field data collection techniques and strategies to push forward data collection efforts related to natural infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and resilience.
