Yard Spotter 2nd Shift - INDIANAPOLIS, IN

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Spotter to join our team. The Yard Spotter will be responsible for moving trailers, containers, and equipment around the yard to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires the ability to operate various types of yard trucks, trailers, and forklifts while adhering to safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely maneuver trailers and containers within the yard using yard trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
• Ensure accurate placement of trailers in assigned spots and move them as needed to accommodate loading/unloading operations.
• Inspect trailers for damage and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with trailer reorganization, ensuring that the yard is organized and traffic flow is optimized.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and other team members to coordinate the movement of goods.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety regulations and protocols.
• Complete daily reports of movements and activities, including trailer inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating yard trucks, forklifts, or other similar equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of yard operations and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and wear necessary safety gear.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around for long periods.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
