The Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships will lead the team responsible for long-term partnerships. This is a strategic and corporate development role accountable for driving the enterprise's growth agenda through the cultivation and delivery of external partnerships that utilize capabilities across Optum and UHC to create innovative market solutions. The VP will utilize their network across the enterprise to create the alignment needed to push initiatives forward and will ensure that critical internal relationships are grown and sustained over the long-term. The position will have accountability for creating a foundation for long-term, successful partnerships, and providing long-term governance support. This individual will be tasked with removing barriers for team members so they can accelerate output and build a solid culture centered around engagement, development, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Strategic lead of the team responsible for the overall partnership relationship, combining creative and innovative enterprise-level strategic thinking with technical rigor to own the entire deal execution process
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team responsible for developing and executing partnerships; actively look for avenues to help teammates upskill and develop professionally
  • Foster a team culture of innovation, collaboration, and grit
  • Developing and leveraging executive presence and personal credibility to successfully navigate UHG's robust business portfolio and leadership landscape, working effectively with cross-functional clinical, strategy, finance, and legal teams
  • Leading development of partnership and value creation thesis, ensuring arrangements align with UHG strategic objectives through deep relationships with internal UHG and external partner executives (e.g., C-Suite and decision makers); creating market-differentiating solutions with products and services from across the enterprise
  • Balancing success through strategic and financial value realization for UHG and partner organizations; escalating client and internal issues to remove barriers
  • Establish KPIs and MBOs to measure the success of strategic partnerships and leverage data-driven insights to optimize performance
  • Prioritize, organize and document work to obtain decisions, meet deadlines and drive execution

Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of strategic business development, corporate development, and /or corporate strategy
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience with a proven track record of managing high performing teams
  • Proven track record of productive relationships with C-Suite and senior-level client executives while building credibility and influencing key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Track record of successful relationship development and ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels
  • Deep experience collaborating and navigating large organizations and cross-functional teams on multi-year engagements
  • Deep understanding of and experience with UnitedHealth Group's enterprise, business units, and capabilities
  • Financial acumen with the ability to forecast partnership value
  • Advanced communication and negotiating ability in the context of complex fortune 100 organizations
  • Advanced aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, and resiliency
  • Proven experience and expertise in the healthcare market, especially provider and/or payer


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare to include financial acumen, product, operations, technology operation, and data

The salary range for this role is $191,800 to $364,800 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
