About the Office of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (OUESS)

Under the leadership of the Vice Provost for OUESS, the OUESS challenges students to become accomplished learners who can make meaningful connections among work, study, and community. We connect curricular and co-curricular offerings to support students in developing a strong foundation for success, during college and after. This position reports to the Director for Communications in the OUESS.

Note on Working Time
This position must be available to work standard GT business hours M-F, 8-5 (or 7-4 or 9-6), as well as some evenings as weekends based on student programs and with advanced notice. We are looking for hardworking professionals who are dedicated to undergraduate education and make students the top priority to join our organization of talented, energetic, and creative team members.

Job Summary

Participate in communications efforts designed to market a campus unit's products and/or services to target audiences. This position develops communications materials in the form of graphics, brochures, fact sheets, articles for publication, logo designs and/or websites. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and personnel, customers and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Conduct and utilize market research as necessary to recommend appropriate marketing communications strategies

Job Duty 2 -
Develop content and oversee the design and production process for print collateral

Job Duty 3 -
Consult with academic and/or administrative personnel to acquire the necessary information about the subject

Job Duty 4 -
Confer with Institute Communications and Marketing to ensure that Institute graphic and style standards are followed in all material

Job Duty 5 -
Obtain cost estimates, collaborate in the selection of illustrators and printers and approve their work, as required

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong expertise in writing, including drafting and editing written content for digital outlets including articles, newsletters, social media captions, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of planning and implementing communications for projects or programs.
Ability and temperament to work with sensitive information in an executive-level environment.
Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to learn and apply new software skills.
Excellent customer service skills, organizational awareness, and professionalism.
Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, consistently meeting deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to establish effective working relationships to successfully accomplish objectives.
Expert in working independently and in a team environment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires skills in writing and communication, creativity and ability to incorporate a variety of resources and tools to develop marketing materials. Requires ability to understand complex and/or highly technical ideas and programs and communicate them in lay terms. Also required are organizational and communications skills as well as use of office and specialized computer applications.

Job Grade: A7

Salary Range: $52,000 - $60,000, annual. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
