The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of wells, including constant monitoring of well performance. You will be responsible for maximizing profitability of producing wells by maximizing delivery of wells and minimizing expenses. You will be expected to assess the production capabilities and economic value of the wells assigned to you. You will also be tasked with designing and implementing initial artificial lift, artificial lift repairs, and workovers. The Production Engineer is an integral member of the team and will need to work effectively in a collaborative environment with infrastructure, production operations, and well construction teams.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create cost estimates and AFEs for new wells, artificial lift repairs, and workovers.
  • Accrue for capital and expense spend for your area of responsibility.
  • Monitor spend as compared to a target job cost.
  • Monitor artificial lift and production trends, design workover, and intervention programs in order to maximize oil recovery.
  • Coordinate with Production Operations to optimize artificial lift and facilities for maximum production.
  • Design, analyze and make recommendations to optimize artificial lift systems.
  • Analyze well failures and track trends and implement changes to reduce failure frequency.
  • Provide Production Engineering technical support to Field Operations, Infrastructure, Completions, etc. as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in oil shale plays and unconventional assets.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Production Engineer.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel to site.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Able to meet insurability standards in order to drive a company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of Permian Basin experience.
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience with rod design, nodal analysis, or ESP design programs.
  • Two (2) years of horizontal and multiple stage completion experience is a plus.
  • Motivated self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision.
