Department Information

The Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB, https://research.gatech.edu/bio) is located in Georgia Tech's thriving Biotechnology Complex was launched in 1995. IBB serves to catalyze new research and education initiatives at the interface of bioengineering and bioscience and integrate the broad range of bio-related activities throughout Georgia Tech and its partner institutions.

Job Summary

The Grants Administrator - Advanced Professional is responsible for overseeing the administration of grant funding processes, including proposal development, budget preparation, and compliance with funding agency regulations. This role ensures that all financial activities related to grants are conducted accurately and efficiently, providing support to researchers and faculty throughout the grant lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Oversees the grant application process by ensuring all proposals are completed accurately and submitted by established deadlines.

Job Duty 2 - Develops and manage budgets for grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funding agency guidelines and institutional policies.

Job Duty 3 - Reviews and analyze grant contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions set by funding agencies.

Job Duty 4 - Monitors grant expenditures and financial reporting to ensure adherence to budgetary limits and funding regulations.

Job Duty 5 - Provides guidance and support to faculty and researchers in understanding grant management processes and requirements.

Job Duty 6 - Prepares and submit financial reports to funding agencies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of grant-related financial activities.

Job Duty 7 - Conducts training sessions and workshops for staff and researchers on best practices in grant management and compliance.

Job Duty 8 - Stays informed about changes in grant regulations and funding opportunities to advise the organization on potential impacts and strategies.

Job Duty 9 - Collaborates with various departments to facilitate effective communication and coordination regarding grant-related activities.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a research environment.
Experience with preparing National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) proposals.
Experience with Cayuse and Grants.gov.
Experience with reviewing pre-proposal documents (ex. NIH Biosketch) to ensure the documents are compliant per solicitation guidelines.
Strong attention to details, customer service, project management, communication, organization, and time management skills.
Experience with Microsoft 365.

Salary Band: $55,029 - $73,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
