Department: Counseling Out patient Adult FULL Time (40 hours per week); Day shift 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday- NO weekends or holidays Brighton Center for Recovery - Location: Brighton, MI Compensation: 15.50 - 16.50 per hour Provide clerical and organizational support services to the outpatient department. Responsibilities:
- Receive telephone calls, screen, and refer to appropriate staff when indicated in an appropriate manner.
- Schedule appointments for therapists.
- Audit open and closed medical records, ensure forms and medical record are complete and send for medical record if indicated.
- Verify patient's insurance according to policy.
- Handle all inquiries regarding outpatient treatment programs as well as other programs offered.
- Collect payments from clients and figure balances.
- Coordinate with counseling staff to keep appointments accurate to their schedules, changes and/or reschedules appointments when necessary.
- Assist patient in filling out forms necessary for first appointments with therapists.
- Review authorizations and lab reports and distribute to appropriate therapists.
- Enter demographic data into computer for billing programs.
- Complete the banking for office on a daily basis and process charges.
- Keep referral acknowledgement book updated.
- Participate in departmental and organizational in-service training programs and staff meetings.
- Maintain a current level of knowledge regarding the field.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:|
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and designing Excel spreadsheets.
- Minimum 45 error-free words per minute typing skills.
- Must have good spelling and telephone etiquette.
- Physical ability, with or without accommodation, to finger, grasp, kneel, lift up to 20 pounds, pull, push, reach and conduct repetitive movement.
- Sensory and communicative skills, with or without accommodation, to feel, hear, see and speak.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with associates, patients and families.
- Ability to concentrate and to pay close attention to detail while performing tasks.
