Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager of Southwest Dental - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate The Manager will oversee the daily operational activities of the Orthodontics site, offering strong organizational skills. The Manager is an innovative and creative problem solver and able to work successfully and independently. The Manager is expected to work in close collaboration with the Clinical Director, Site Director and the FHC Leadership Team to achieve the financial and operational goals of the site.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans, direct and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Orthodontic clinic.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures clinical and administrative information systems operate effectively
  • Responsible for carrying out marketing outreach and health education activities that promote patient engagement and access to care.
  • Resolves patient complaints and monitors patient and staff satisfaction.
  • Ensures credentialing statuses and malpractice insurance is current and accurate for all participating insurances.
  • Ordering, organization and security of all supplies and equipment
  • Collaborates with Departmental Leadership and RED+F to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and employees, as well as enforcement of action plans when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory standards including OSHA, DOH and JCAHO
  • Schedules and monitors compliance for all mandatory trainings (e.g., Corporate Compliance, Environment of Care, etc.)
  • Oversees scheduling and ensures adequate staffing
  • Serves as timekeeper for timely submission of Payroll for all staff
  • Ability to run reports, utilize data and track key performance indicators
  • Provides operational supervision to staff and ensures workflows are completed accurately including registration, billing, insurance verification, treatment coordination, referral work queues, sterilization, etc.
  • Responsible for site financial management including billing operations, A/R, posting payments, adjustments, the development of annual operating budgets, etc.
  • Collaborates on planning and implementing strategic initiatives to improve and maintain desired performance targets in the areas of patient care, clinical and financial operations, revenue cycle, patient experience, and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Successful track record in staff management.
  • Experience with IT systems including Electronic Health Records
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Orthodontic practice
  • Experience with billing operations

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66,415.19 - $86,612.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
