This position offers biannual pay increases for employees that are satisfactorily progressing towards qualification, meeting the company's expectations and standards, and adhering to workplace policies. The maximum pay rate is typically achieved at the career level within two to three years.

Job Family Description

Maintenance/production personnel support the operational success of nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, buildings, systems, and shops. Professionals in these roles are responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of equipment, machinery, and production processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Discipline Description

Maintenance support personnel provide assistance and coordination for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. Maintenance support personnel may perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, including inspection and repair, manage inventory, and ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards. Maintenance support personnel may perform routine calibrations of equipment and instruments to support facility operations and monitoring. They may perform shop fabrication and machining of equipment to support facility operations.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

* Perform the installation, inspection, calibration, maintenance and repair of complex equipment, which employ pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, chemical, optical, electronic or electrical principles of operation.
* Develop and perform lockouts.
* Assemble and/or fabricate mechanical apparatus
from material and parts. Overhaul mechanical equipment such as: compressors, pumps, agitators, gear drives and fans returning their performance to design standards.
* Inspect and/or test parts and assemblies to determine functional condition.
* Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic
pneumatic systems to diagnose problems.
* Must meet physical requirements for the essential duties, which may include being able to handle 50 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, exposure to extreme temperature and wearing protective clothing/equipment (including respiratory) and meet Rad Con requirements.

Required Qualifications

1. Candidates must have completed ACT WorkKeys Skills assessment and achieved minimum scores of 2 in Workplace Observation, 3 in Graphic Literacy, and 4 in Applied Technology. Test scores must within the last five years.
Official transcripts must be provided to the company for considerations of employment.
2. Associate Degree in one of the following or equivalent: Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Technology, General Technology, OR four years of related experience/training equivalent to qualification
standards.
3. Selected candidates must also pass the Maintenance Unit skills test administered by the Site Maintenance Training personnel

Students from Technical schools/colleges who are in their final semester that have not yet graduated may apply and could be considered for employment prior to and contingent upon graduation.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
