Responsibilities

Senior VP- Clinical Practice- Behavioral Health

The Senior Vice President, Clinical Practice has the primary responsibility for setting the direction and focus of the clinical practice provided at all Horizon contracted programs. The Senior Vice President, Clinical Practice is responsible for the development and implementation of clinical materials and resources for all Horizon contracted staff. The Senior Vice President, Clinical Practice will assist the VP of Clinical Services staff to analyze and trend available clinical data; including Clinical Quality Outcome Indicators (CQI) and Risk Management data (Fall, R&S, Med Error etc.) to identify opportunities for performance improvement (PI), clinical initiatives and business development opportunities. This person must have a strong working knowledge of regulatory/accreditation standards, team development, and clinical services. Highly developed organizational, interpersonal and management skills. Strong skills in oral and written communication and proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Maintains confidentiality regarding patient information and quality, performance and risk management information. This individual is an active member of the company Senior Leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of core clinical resources, which promote positive patient outcomes, utilization of best practices, and ongoing staff professional development.
  • Oversee the clinical processes and staff professional practice for quality patient care delivery, positive patient outcomes/satisfaction, regulatory readiness and performance improvement.
  • Foster an environment of clinical excellence at program locations through evidence based and best practices.
  • Expert resource to Vice Presidents of Clinical Services and Senior/Vice President of Operations for regulatory standards, industry trends, program and staff development, clinical monitoring systems and psychiatric care delivery.
  • Provide consistent communication and alerts on relative industry changes that affect psychiatric services.
  • Utilizes available data to trend Risk Management issues and patient outcomes to identify strategies/resources to mitigate risk and improve patient care.
  • Provide leadership, direction and resources to Vice President of Clinical Services, including but not limited to following a negative or serious patient event/outcome and assist with formulation of corrective action plan.
  • Assist with development and implementation of clinical best practices and outcome driven performance improvement initiatives.
  • Guide proactive program planning to improve clinical services.
  • Develop and maintain clinical policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain educational resources
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates for program development
  • Provide expert clinical consultation and assistance for Sales/Development new business and consulting projects for the company.
  • Interacts with Corporate Quality and Compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance at program locations and participates in Quality and Compliance Department meetings.
  • Conduct special investigations and projects at the request and direction of President and Chief Operating Office.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing with a psychiatric specialization, and valid RN license required.
  • 10 years of varied clinical, administrative experience in psychiatric settings
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills in developing materials/ resources, consultation and assessment in psychiatric care delivery systems.
