Chief Nursing Officer - Interim Opportunity

The candidate that is selected will have an opportunity to fulfill a twenty month interim assignment at Belmont Pines.

Belmont Pines Hospital is the largest freestanding children's behavioral health hospital in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. We provide comprehensive behavioral health services to children and adolescents ages 5 through 18. Each of our inpatient, residential and outpatient services are tailored to most appropriately meet the needs of our patients. We employ a compassionate, trauma-informed care treatment model across all our program offerings.

Our thoughtfully designed, 51,580-square-foot facility is located on nearly 20 beautifully wooded acres in Liberty Township, Ohio and offers a scenic and comfortable environment specifically for young patients to help them to heal, learn and grow. The Interim Director of Nursing/Consultant actively participates in the facility's leadership functions and collaborates with other leaders in designing and supervising patient care and services. Maintains responsibility for establishing and ensuring implementation of nursing standards of patient care. Provideds oversight and supervision of the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and have a current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

  • Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing and four (4) years psychiatric nursing experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting:

  • Psychiatric nursing experience is the treatment and care of persons whose principal diagnosis and focus of treatment is a psychiatric disorder, the experience can include working as a staff nurse on a psychiatric inpatient unit or in an outpatient setting with individuals who have a primary psychiatric diagnosis. It is not caring for individuals in a nursing home, whose principal or primary diagnosis is often a chronic dementing organic mental disorder

  • Must have current certification in CPI or Handle with Care or obtain within 30-days of employment
  • It is preferred, but not required, that the individual holds voluntary certification in psychiatric and mental health nursing by the American nurses credentialing association.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health setting
