POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Education

POSITION(S) REPORTING TO PROGRAM MANAGER: None

STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

About the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS):

MDS is a leading global non-profit organization of healthcare professionals committed to improving the lives of people affected by movement disorders. Through robust educational programs, MDS connects clinicians, scientists, and allied professionals across continents.

Position Summary:

The MDS-Pan American Section (PAS) Program Manager plans, coordinates, and executes regional educational programs and events across the Americas. Program managers work directly with leaders and committees to support these programs and strategic actions. This is a dynamic, highly collaborative position ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys travel, cross-cultural communication, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week ):

  • Lead planning and execution of regional education programs, workshops, and meetings for the Region.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the MDS-PAS Executive and Education Committee, aiding in the implementation of strategic goals into effective programs.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of meetings and events, vendor negotiation, speaker coordination, travel arrangements, program materials, and on-site support.
  • Develop and manage budgets and timelines for assigned programs and regional initiatives.
  • Use the MDS Learning Management System (LMS) to coordinate participant registration, course content, and evaluations.
  • Support senior leadership and volunteer committees by preparing agendas, minutes, timelines, and action items.
  • Provide administrative support for assigned education programs and related projects.
  • Contribute to broader team initiatives and assist with other regional programs as needed, including international travel.
  • Ensure accreditation compliance (ACCME/EACCME) for educational activities, including documentation and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of meeting planning, administrative support, project coordination, or association management experience.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with LMS platforms and virtual meeting tools a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues and volunteer leadership.


Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with non-profit or association environments.
  • Experience working with scientific or medical education programs.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.


Work Environment & Travel:

  • Must be available for 5-7 weeks of travel annually, including international destinations.
  • Occasional early morning or evening calls.
  • Occasional evening/weekend work during program delivery.
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs.



*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
