Wieland is hiring an Engineering Summer Intern, Recycling. The Engineering Summer Intern, Recycling, will be responsible for projects assigned by leadership and is meant to provide valuable experience in international business, manufacturing, and specifically in metals recycling and circularity. This role is located in Shelbyville, KY and will be fully on-site.

Engineering Summer Intern, Recycling Responsibilities:

Perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Complete an overall summer project and write a closing final report with appropriate photos, graphs, and data as directed by the supervisor.
• Learn about global and local copper circularity and metal recycling in a practical manner.
• Learn about business and corporations, and manufacturing.

Engineering Summer Intern, Recycling Qualifications:

• Engineering or maintenance or mechanical, or electrical focus.
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must be a Team Player and able to communicate effectively across all layers of the organization (corporate, metal purchasing, environmental, sustainability, plant management, laboratory, engineering, shop floor, yard, dock)
• Strong interpersonal, cross-disciplinary, and cross-cultural communication and leadership skills are required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical "can-do" attitude are expected.
• Must want to work in "hands-on" situations and apply "book knowledge" and "logic" toward real-world solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in office, remote, and heavy manufacturing settings.
• Promotes the Wieland cultural vision for creating sustainable value - acting and deciding with transparency - through (i) freedom to act, (ii) #ownership of results, and (iii) casual intensity, i.e., the ability to interact casually without losing focus and momentum

• Self-motivator, eager to learn and grow.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is a plus.
