Puget Sound Energy's Gas System Design & Drafting group is looking for an Engineering Specialist to join our team. This posting aligns with the "CAD Design and Drafting" track of the specialist role. The specialist, under minimal supervision of more experienced staff, develops and designs site specific traffic control plans (TCPs) and restoration designs, using AutoCAD design software. These plans are utilized for permitting, operations and maintenance of the gas energy delivery system. Participates on project teams to prepare drawings in support of projects involved in a wide range of construction through the application of standard engineering practices and principles. This job contributes to the development of design and drafting policies, standards and procedures that are in compliance with applicable codes and regulations, including the MUTCD. They support emergency response operations when needed. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing.This job is considered "safety sensitive" as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites.
